Inspired by Hüsker Dü and The Misfits, the music by Press Club is raw and intense. The Melbourne band are known for bringing a tornado of energy during their live shows. And best of all, it’s filled with edgy and brutally honest tunes, which is just everything you want from a no-nonsense garagepunk band.

Their debut album Late Teens dropped in 2019, as well as their second album Wasted Energy

Support: Ioana Iorgu
Ioana is an independent music producer, sound engineer, a self-taught guitarist and drummer. At the age of 14, while living in Malaysia, she was greatly inspired by her English teacher whom she played in a band with, and introduced her to some of her formative records. Ioana released her first instrumental album Silent Scream with songs she composed in 2015 and after that produced another EP, the shoegaze saturated Fiction. After experimenting with ambient music, Ioana kicked off a new chapter by honing her sound further, employing dissonant guitar riffs and thumping drum beats. In 2020 Ioana released her first single Suffocate, followed by Letters, which made it to number 1 on the @IndieXL Radio indie chart. Recently, Ritalin climbed up on number 2 on the @IndieXL radio while remainingnumber 1 on ThistleList for 3 weeks in a row, where the Mean Time album single releases made it in the top 10 at IndieXL. She has now played on various stages, such as VERA, Simplon, Grunnsonic 2022, the Forum, and is now part of the Grondslag project. All songs are written, recorded, and mixed by Ioana. She now formed a duo and performs live shows with Peter Kostwinder (on drums), who will also feature on drums in upcoming recordings. With chaos as an agent of comfort, there is a stinging desire for change. Ioana’s latest album, Mean Time, catches glimpses of the ordinary life, anxiety, grief, bitterness and anger in a rather satirical manner. The songs’ heavy primal instrumentation reveals unvarnished emotions and unspoken thoughts, directly contrasting Ioana’s often dissociative tone, creating an intimate yet crushing feeling. Time is mean. Yearning for the future. In the meantime, let’s just watch the world spin for a minute.
