On the 7th of january there will be a new CUT!-movie presented in Vera in collaboration with Zienema and the CUT!-committee of GHD Ubbo Emmius. The movie Loving (2016), written and directed by Jeff Nichols, presents an interracial marriage in the United States. Based on a true story, the setting is Virgina, a state that had a ban on interracial marriages until 1967.

Mark Thompson, lecturer at the University of Groningen, will introduce the movie. He is specialized in American Studies, Colonial America, the South of the United States and ethnicity, national identity and race in America.
