MINORIE PRESENTS

Hypnotic folk with an experimental approach
Minorie brings an evening of folk and experimental music in the form of a seated concert. This time with fingerpicking guitarist Venediktos Tempelboom and trombonist Tintin Patrone.
Venediktos Tempelboom is the alias of Ghentenaar Benwa Meneers. Using the 12-string guitar as his main instrument, the self-taught musician creates passages that take fingerpicking Americana and Eastern transcendence into the Flanders fields, with winding compositions that distill the essence of giants like John Fahey, Robbie Basho and Jack Rose and folds them into the dark drone melancholia of Funeral Folk/KRAAK stalwarts like Silvester Anfang, Helvete and Ignatz. Following up the ‘Het Vuil Volkske’ cassette (2022) on KRAAK with his debut LP ‘Syne Vuyle Hoeck’ in late 2024, the Tempelboom amalgamates his influences – East, West and deep Flanders alike – into a wondrous collection of acid-drenched tracks.
German-Filipino performance and sound artist Tintin Patrone uses trombone and electronics to create hypnotic compositions and improvisations. With a focus on minimal sound work and long-duration performances, Tintin’s artistic endeavors are deeply influenced by her studies in microtonality. Her compositions gradually unfold, featuring sustained tones that create a contemplative atmosphere yet also contain a strong ebb and flow with fragments of melodies where melancholy and anger alternate.
Minorie is a record label from Groningen that explores the fringes of folk and experimental music.
