Amplifiers cranked up, drumsticks at the ready, a couple of growls into the mic, and GO. Luckily, there’s always fresh blood making its way into the punk scene – on October 17, Copenhagen’s very own whirlwind Status Symbol is blowing into our basement. Armed with a super-tight set, they’re coming to compete for the highest basement bar status.

Although the band is still fresh out of the box, its members have been active in the local scene for a while. They know each other from K-Town, a DIY hardcore punk festival in Copenhagen, which sounds like music to our ears. Since the band is still so new, there are no recordings online just yet, but in that one live video, Status Symbol already sounds like a well-oiled machine, bursting with urgency.
