Formed in 2011 after meeting at music college, Brighton-based The Wytches blend psychedelic rock, surf rock, garage punk and grunge into a sound defined by ferocious riffs, eerie atmospheres and introspective songwriting. Their 2014 debut, Annabel Dream Reader, established their signature mix of raw energy and haunting themes, earning them international attention. Across five albums, they have continued evolving while retaining their gritty edge. Their latest album, Talking Machine (2025), embraces 1960s rock’n’roll influences, analogue recording and a raw, live sound. Balancing pounding garage-rock anthems with quieter, melancholic moments, it captures a band refining their sound without losing its intensity.
