Dinosaur Jr. needs little introduction for guitar lovers. With their mix of heavy rock and noise, the band has been a major influence on current alternative guitar music since their formation in 1984. At the end of the 90s, the end of the band seemed in sight, but luckily they returned in 2005 in their original line-up with a world tour, including a show in our very own VERA. At the end of last year their 5th studio album was released and on the 28th of October they will perform in Amsterdam. The perfect moment for us to screen their documentary.

Freak Scene: The Story of Dinosaur Jr. is a tribute to one of the most influential bands on the American East Coast. Brace yourself for an emotional, tragic and at the same time funny (and sometimes a little too noisy) rollercoaster ride with a dysfunctional family. Make sure to stick around after the movie, because then we can enjoy a performance by Speed Frisbee in the basement bar!
