Chicago-based postpunk act Stuck blends the eccentric side of egg punk from bands like Uranium Club and The Coneheads with the noise rock power of Jesus Lizard or Slint. Stuck was formed after band leader Greg Obis decided to quit his previous projects. Obis is on guitar and vocals, which span from booming theatrics to ecstatic yelps. The project’s rhythm section is completed by bassist David Algrim and tightly wound drummer Tim Green — also a graphic designer, and the artist responsible for Stuck’s distinctively unified visual aesthetic. Ezra Saulnier of Red Tunic, the newest member of the band, now brings calculated contrapuntal riffs to match Obis’ parts.

Support act Dead Finks is the musical output of New Zealand born duo Joseph Thomas and Erin Violet. Its current and longest-running incarnation is a 4-piece band based in Berlin, featuring Ivan Krasnov and Nick Jongen, playing post-punk music in the tradition of Wire, Sonic Youth and Parquet Courts. They’re no strangers to VERA, as they’ve played a downstage show in 2022 and opened for Dry Cleaning in 2023.
