Initially formed around the middle of the decade in their hometown of Colchester by core members Andy Buss, Leith Ambrose and Luke Phelps. It wasn’t long before Egyptian Blue became one of the most coveted new bands in the UK, culminating in tour support slots with Idles and Foals.
Every element of Egyptian Blue’s angular and uncompromising sound brings with it an urgency that is both rare and vital. Their jagged riffs achieve a mesmeric power through brute repetition, while their rhythm section produces taut, nervous energy and intense post-punk grooves in equal measure.
Support Dim Imagery plays crank wave, flegel-core, post-brexit pop. The 5-piece from Leeds refuse to be pigeonholed by genre, instead attacking tracks with precision, robotic rhythms, and disturbing walls of sound. The harsher tones of art rock, new wave & krautrock bleed across their discography, yet this bleeding is coherent, poised, and in some sense disturbingly playful.
