Consequences paints a portrait of emotional teenage anger mixed with fragile masculinity. Discussing issues of being true to oneself and one’s sexuality. We follow young Andrej who has trouble dealing with his anger while living in a dysfunctional family environment. Due to his violent behavior, he ends up in a detention center. While living there he becomes part of a small gang led by Željko. We follow their criminal adventures while picking up the sexual attraction between Andrej and Željko, which escalates at the peak of the movie. In the end, Andrej is faced with hard decisions and realizations. 

This homoerotic drama film was directed by Darko Štante, who himself works in the detention center. Štante mirrors the part of Slovenian society which continues to struggle with queer sexuality. Giving viewers a unique perspective of what could happen to a boy, with a secret, who winds himself in a world led by brutality, machismo, testosterone, and the need to belong.
