Layered and textured indiefolk
The Canadian indie-folk band Foxwarren plays music that’s as intricate as it is intimate. Built on two decades of friendship, the group, consisting of Andy Shauf, Dallas Bryson, Avery Kissick, Darryl Kissick, and Colin Nealis, blends warm melodies, atmospheric textures, and subtle experimentation into something truly their own. Their latest album, 2, trades the traditional band-in-a-room sound for a collage-like approach, layering samples, found sounds, and soft-spoken vocals into a hypnotic song cycle about connection and change. It’s folk, but reimagined, emotional and inventive, best heard loud with the windows down.
