Maria Mazzotta is one of the finest folk singers in southern Italy and a leading folk music act. The unique versatility of her voice is what makes her one of the most important voices of folk music nowadays. Mazzotta was part of Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, made two albums with Alban cellist Redi Hasa, and has performed with amongst others Ludovico Einaudi and Bobby McFerrin.

She moves in a natural, seamless way from the sounds of Southern Italy to balkan music, and captivates the audience with her sincere interpretation as she carries them along while immersing them into the cultures of the songs interpreted.
