Sound and Chaos: The Story of BC Studio (Ryan Douglass, Sara Leavitt, 2013) [English version below]
Na afloop live muziek van studiobaas Martin Bisi /  live set by Bisi after the screening

Zijn nieuwe album Ex Nihilo wordt omschreven als ‘a journey through time and the solar system, with operatic mermaids and chanting animist practitioners. A crash course in post-punk sound anarchy, avant gardist doom and freak lucid dreaming.’

Martin Bisi spent the past three decades in his recording studio in Gowanus, Brooklyn working with such influential musicians as Sonic Youth, Swans, Herbie Hancock, Brian Eno and The Dresden Dolls. The creeping gentrification of the neighbourhood is, however, making the future of the legendary BC Studio somewhat uncertain. Old factory buildings like Bisi’s studio are being replaced by mega-supermarkets. The documentary is brimming with interviews, including Michael Gira from the Swans, Brian Viglione of the The Dresden Dolls and Jim Thirlwell aka Foetus. Bisi is a musician himself and will play a live set in the renowned VERA Kelderbar after the screening. His new album Ex Nihilo is described as ‘a journey through time and the solar system, with operatic mermaids and chanting animist practitioners. A crash course in post-punk sound anarchy, avant gardist doom and freak lucid dreaming.’
