Three showgirls from Sydney – two transvestites and a transsexual – are sick and tired of their big-city life, so they decide to accept an invitation to perform in Alice Springs, in the middle of the desert. They pack their old bus, which has been baptised Priscilla, with costumes, gliittery bits & bobs and make-up, booze, wigs and inflatable boobs. They then embark on action-packed journey, brimming with comic, bizarre and dangerous adventures.

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is now an ultimate cult classic and has played a pivotal role in putting queer themes on the map for the wider public. Although timeless, it’s now already a quarter of a century ago that it was initially released in 1994, and has won countless accolades and awards since, including an Oscar for best costume design.
