The Essex Green were founded in 1997, inspired by the psychedelic sounds of the ’60s and the warmth of folk-rock and country. Their very own twist on ‘chamber pop’ is beautifully arranged, and often resembles the music of Fairport Convention. 2018 was a big year for the band, their two Merge releases ‘The Long Goodbye’ and ‘Cannibal Sea’ have been re-released on vinyl, and their long-awaited album ‘Hardly Electronic’ saw the light of day.
Lowell Thompson will be the opening act voor tonight and will bring his acoustic alt-country and Americana to Vera. His refined fingerpicking style, poetic lyrics and lush melodies, similar to Ryan Adams, will surely leave an impression.
