The Telescopes have been around since 1987, with the only constant being the composer/initiator, Northumbrian-born Stephen Lawrie. The band’s lineup is constantly changing; there could be between 1 and 20 members on a recording.

The Telescopes’ music has continually pushed its own boundaries through overlaps of many genres and follows its own course guided by inspiration. Time has shown that songs from the band not only withstand repeated listening, but also reveal something new with each listen.

Of Tomorrow is The Telescopes’ 15th album, their fifth with Tapete Records and will be released on May 19, 2023. The album was created entirely by Lawrie in his studio in Shropshire. The album marks a complete change in dynamics, with poetry and solid grooves at the front.
