A dark legend set in a remote mountain region in fifteenth century Austria. A young woman, Albrun, teeters on a thin line between ancient magic, faith and madness. She struggles to maintain her sanity at a time when the pagan belief in witches and other spirits of nature is spreading fear and terror among the rural population. A witchcraft concoction of abuse, perversion and psychosis drives her to unimaginable lengths.

The graduation film by director Feigelfeld mainly relies on its ominous atmosphere and slow build-up. In Hagazussa he tells his story with a minimum of dialogue, long meditative takes and a monotonous soundtrack. The rugged, desolate atmosphere of the Austrian Alps forms the ideal backdrop for this dark fable
