Zienema and E.A.T. Collective are joining forces for a screening of Agnès Varda’s Les Glaneurs et la Glaneuse!

Edible Actions Together (E.A.T.) is a collective and open platform to connect, share experiences, and explore knowledge in relation to food practices. It consists of an international group of artists, cooks, illustrators, students, food enthusiasts and more, who regularly meet in Groningen.

With Les Glaneurs et la Glaneuse we are shifting our attention to forgotten food. In today’s world, food that doesn’t look or seem attractive any more is quickly discarded, resulting in incredible amounts of food waste. For centuries, gleaners have been picking the fields for forgotten food like potatoes after the harvest. But gleaning goes much further than that. Varda films and interviews gleaners of all kinds in her usual playful way, including herself: from those still picking the fields to those scouring the dumpsters of Paris. For some an act of necessity, for others a form of protest to our broken food system.

After the screening there will be a Q&A and open discussion with E.A.T. Collective about the topics touched upon in the film. Food will be prepared and shared with the audience, all gleaned of course.
