Danger Dolls (Kaneko Shusuke 2014)  [English version below]

Our RKZ Bios colleagues will be screening movies from the national CAMERA JAPAN festival from 18-20 October. VERA Zienema is lucky enough to have been given the honour of showing the outrageously zany Danger Dolls in a special preview screening. The movie takes place in a world which has managed to get rid of all nuclear weapons and guns, so the Japanese police only need swords to maintain order. This leaves them in dire straits when a bunch of mysterious blue creatures, disguised as humans, travel from some other dimension to Earth’s and begin sowing death and destruction. Luckily, humanity still can count on an elite squad of four female fighters, who protect the world while pretending to be just another cute J-Pop foursome. If you love Japanese science fiction gone desperately wrong, this is just the movie for you!
