Convenience makes life better, and making things unnecessarily complicated? This guy (points both thumbs at himself) has absolutely no time for that. Why learn a bunch of jazz chords when you can write punk songs with a handful of power chords, lightning-fast drums, and a nasal baritone vocal? I suspect Dark Thoughts feels the same way. With four albums under their belt, the formula is crystal clear: straightforward punk rock that owes a huge debt to the Ramones, putting them firmly alongside bands like Ne Luumäet from Finland, Los Nikis from Spain, and Expulsados from Argentina. Ramonescore, plain and simple and damn good Ramonescore at that. Get there early, because with most of their songs clocking in at under two minutes, it’ll be over before you know it. | Robert
