Dutch septet Personal Trainer churn out songs that sound like all your favorite indie rock luminaries jam-packed into big-beaming pop psalms. The indie collective, centered around frontman and cheerleader Willem Smit, has seen many changes through the years, with additions from other indie-favourites like Canshaker Pi, Pip Blom, Home Counties and Global Charming.

The band released their first EP, Gazebo, back in 2021, which was followed by the release of their debutalbum, Big Love Blanket, in 2022. The album brings a fresh pop sensibility and adventurous production values to songs that have been well-honed on the stage.

It’s a given that Personal Trainer will continue to seek out charmingly impulsive ways to court chaos within their big-hearted pop anthems. With this idea in mind, the band goes back on the road in November. So, start your warm-ups, break out those sweatbands and get ready for a good workout with your favourite Personal Trainer.
