No-wave coldwave dance friction
Plus Instruments is the ever-evolving project of Truus de Groot, Eindhoven-born artist and pioneering force in Dutch underground music. Since 1978, Truus has shaped a singular sound world where improvisation, minimalism, groove and experimentation collide. Often called the “Queen of the Dutch Underground,” she developed Plus Instruments as an open and fluid collective, continuously reinvented through new collaborations. From early connections with New York’s no-wave and experimental scenes to decades of recordings and performances worldwide, Plus Instruments has remained fearless and forward-moving. Today, together with Richard van Kruysdijk, driving rhythms, electronic sequences and raw energy create immersive sets built equally for listening and dancing.
Dutch coldwave trio Desinteresse blends vintage electronics, driving basslines, sparse rhythms and melancholic atmospheres. Since emerging in 2022, they have quickly become a notable presence in the European underground, pairing emotionally distant textures with powerful live performances that amplify themes of isolation, emptiness and abandoned emotion.
Based between Amsterdam and Groningen, Hondenfokker is a kennel-broken three-piece caught somewhere between a rave and a riot. The band smashes jagged guitar riffs into a mess of chaotic beats and analog synth bass, built for both the dancefloor and the mosh pit. Impossible to keep on a leash with vocals snapping between catchy hooks and wild improvisations, sinking their teeth in and refusing to let go.
