Meditative soundscapes and raw folk songs
Richard Bolhuis (NL/EN) created audiovisual installations at Van Abbemuseum (Eindhoven), Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam), Groninger Museum, The Model (Sligo) and Hundred Years Gallery (London). In his long-term regenerative project Kollumerpomp he interweaves ecology, sound and
imagination.
Richard’s album We Are Guided by the Same Stars will be released on vinyl, cassette, and CD on March 20, 2026, featuring handmade, screen-printed covers. On March 21, his exhibition Ancient Songs also opens at CAMPIS, Assen.
For VERA, he will create a new audiovisual installation that culminates in a live performance with Olmo Asmussen (drums), Carol Anne McGowan (vocals), and Vincent Swierstra (sarangi). Meditative soundscapes and raw folk songs flow seamlessly into one another. They will also perform songs from Richard’s former Dutch-Irish collective House of Cosy Cushions.
