JAWEL! Subroutine, Lepel, and winSUMMERfest join forces for a special night at VERA. Three organisations with a long-standing knack for spotting adventurous guitar music and emerging talent come together to present a lineup showcasing some of the finest gems of the Dutch underground.

Petersburg is an indie rock band from Amsterdam with an unpredictable sound. Their concise songs are driven by raw guitar work, spontaneous improvisation, and an unpolished, free-flowing approach to performance. Balancing melancholy with playfulness, their music has an intimate, organic quality that feels like stepping into a live rehearsal. Echoes of bands like Sparklehorse and The Velvet Underground can be heard throughout, but Petersburg puts its own stamp on these influences through layered songwriting and a relaxed, understated style.

The Sweet Release Of Death is a Rotterdam-based trio blending noise rock, post-punk, and shoegaze into a raw, richly textured sound. Abrasive guitars, propulsive rhythms, and commanding vocals shift between tension, chaos, and melody, while gritty textures and unpredictable dynamics keep each song alive with momentum. Drawing inspiration from proto-goth and experimental guitar music, the band transforms these influences into an intense and unmistakably distinctive sonic identity.

Geo creates danceable post-punk infused with no wave influences, combining driving basslines with sharp, angular guitar work. The band thrives on unexpected twists and off-kilter song structures, keeping the music in constant motion. Dark, alienating vocals reinforce themes of estrangement, inner turmoil, and self-reflection, resulting in a sound that is both restless and compelling.
