Velocity Made Good makes synthesizers sound like a guitar set to earthquake mode. Raised on the thunder of Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, and shaped by the electronic precision of LCD Soundsystem and The Chemical Brothers, the duo delivers a sound that is raw yet refined, personal and overwhelming, executed with down-to-earth Frisian efficiency. The boundary between stage and audience disappears when playing live. VMG and the crowd merge into one swirling mass. Every show is an inevitable escalation that leaves no one unmoved.

Since their debut EP in 2023, VMG has built a lasting reputation as one of the most intense live acts in the Netherlands. They’ve played festivals such as Into The Great Wide Open, Oerol, and Skatecafé, supported Deki Alem and Mandy Indiana, and were named by 3voor12 as one of the highlights of Popronde 2023. ESNS nominated them for Talent of the Year at Popgala Noord. By now, that reputation has carried them far beyond national borders: in 2024 VMG toured the Balkans and Portugal, followed by Scandinavia the year after.

Now VMG is ready for the next step. A new EP is on the way, to be released by Zeevonk Records. Produced by Josh Baxter of PVA, the EP was forged in an abandoned school in their hometown of Groningen and sounds louder, rawer, and more personal than anything before. VMG will celebrate the release of the new EP on October 24 with a show at VERA, featuring support acts in both the main hall and the basement bar. Names to be announced. Party! – Eva
