Voice of Baceprot is an all-girl metal/rockband from West-Java, Indonesia. The band started to get attention in 2015 when a video of theirs, where they played a Rage Against The Machine cover, was very popular online. The trio then went on to film more covers of their idols like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica and Slipknot, which got them even more exposure.
Besides their musical talent and young age, it was the unique combination of heavy rock/metal and the hijabs that got the attention of worldwide media. Frontwoman Marsya: ‘’Wearing a hijab is not bothering us […] We’re free to express our creativity through rock music while also fulfilling our responsibility as Muslim.’’
Quickly the band went viral and even got a invitation to come backstage with Guns ’N Roses guitarist Slash at their Java show in 2018. More personal shoutouts on social media followed from Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flee, together with Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid.
On August 17th the bands new single “God, Allow Me (Please) to Play Music” came out. On December 1st they will play in thé club and if we have to believe all the praising words you should definitely buy a ticket!
