Cola emerged like a phoenix from the ashes of artpunk band Ought, formed by its founding members after the band’s disbandment in 2021. On the same day as the breakup announcement, Cola was unveiled. Their debut single, ‘Blank Curtain,’ received critical acclaim.

The Canadian trio creates modern, knotty post-punk, with guitar-driven tales of modern life and high tech alienation, performed with surgical precision.

Life is beautifully strange and Geo embraces it with mutant punk from the cracks of the earth. Dancing rhythms and groovy bass lines are strung apart by abrupt structures and piercing guitars. A world fueled by dissociative vocals which travel through disconnection, demons in heads and conversations with the self. But it’s embracing these polarities that bring us closer to a truth, maybe. Geo keeps dancing around the middle, exploring a centre that might never be there.
