For lovers of blues and roots, Daddy Long Legs is quite the band. They know how to respect the soul of the sounds of legends such as Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker, MC5 en Captain Beefheart among others, and yet sound relevant and modern.
Their third studio effort ‘Lowdown Ways’ will be released on the 10th of May (Yep Roc Records), and with the album the New Yorkers prove that they can still re-invent themselves. Field hollers, gospel and Cajun influences are added to their distinctive R&B-sound, what a combination!
