20:45 Any Other (ITA)
Any Other is the band of 24-year-old Adele Nigro from Milan. She writes songs about growing up, breaking up, and learning to cope. Her work is influenced by the indie-folk of Mount Eerie, guitar work of Jim O’Rourke and David Grubbs, spiritual free jazz, and classic songwriting by Carole King and Joni Mitchell. Her second album Two, Geography came out in September 2018 on 42 Records, and is followed by a string of European shows.
22:15 Fontaines D.C. (IRE)
The five members of Fontaines D.C. who met in Dublin, are influenced and driven by the rich history of their hometown’s counter-culture, and as a result they make concise indie post-punk. On their latest single the band delves even deeper into hypnotic, Krautrock infused cyclical riffs, whilst channelling Dublin through their often-unassumingly poetic lyrics, sung with a distinctive gritty Irish drawl. They still have only three singles to their name and their debut album will be out on Partisan Records early 2019.

The Blinders emit raw, loud, visceral, political punk rock adorned with psychedelic poetry. It possesses the enigmatic trio live on stage, forcing them to pour everything out of themselves resulting in frenzied performances. This verging-on-madness experience is drawing ever growing audiences to the group’s joyful obsession. In the same spontaneous spirit the Manchester crew recorded their debut album in just one month.

Scúru Fitchádu is a punk aesthetic project from Portuguese artist Sette Sujidade. He combines drum ’n bass with agressive basslines, heavy beats, punk singing and traditional funana from the Cape Verde islands. Scúru Fitchádu (‘Deep Dark’ in Cape Verdean creole) is a restless journey of heavy and pacey music, racing heartbeats and liberation. On stage at Eurosonic, Sette Sujidade will be accompanied by 2 Machines and a Vjay.
